Early Voting + Halloween = #ZombieVote2012
This year be sure to take advantage of your chance to vote early. You should be able to pick a more convenient time and avoid some lines. You can check here http://reed.edu/earlyvoting/calendar/ to see if and when your state offers early in-person voting.
Many in-person voting periods overlap with Halloween. That should serve as an inspiration to make a statement denouncing (and, of course, mocking) your local “voter fraud” paranoia-crazed partisan poll watcher. They have been convinced that Democrats will cheat by having people vote multiple times using the names of the deceased. So show them that the dead don’t need the Democrats’ help to vote. Mock them at the polls by dressing up as your favorite undead creature: vampire, werewolf, zombie, or Elvis.
Now, a ghost costume would technically still serve the purpose of mocking the “True the Vote” stooges, but it might work to help them by intimidating some minority voters who could interpret your costume as Klannish. So leave the holy sheet at home. Zombies are popular now, so those costume options should be cheap and plentiful.

Will they be able to deny you a chance to vote because of a costume? If what you wear could possibly (notice I didn’t say “reasonably,” given this crowd of activists) be interpreted as electioneering, then they could ask you to leave and take it off before you return. So no matter how hilarious, your Nixon zombie or vampire Roosevelt costume might not make the cut.
